Introduction

So, you want to prepare food for the station? Well then chef is the role for you.

Your main job is keeping the station fed, how you do so and what you prepare is entirely up to you.

Some people go for more menus others just hand out food to go.

Challenge

Mechanical difficulty: Medium

Roleplay difficulty: Low

The chef is not a very demanding role in terms of mechanics or roleplay; it is probably one of the best roles for new players as you will get a chance to be familiar with the controls. While you can do a lot of roleplays as a chef it is not mandatory.

Cooking

This is the meat and potatoes of the job

A good chef usually has something on the counter.

For a repository of recipes would recommend SS14 Cookbook, The recipes can sometimes be wrong if they are switch it to delta V in the cookbook.

Tools

This is all your gadgets. Most your gadgets are easy to know like the rolling. Then there are handheld juicer, mortar and pestle, and skimmer. The handheld juicer can be used for juicing various fruits and veggies so you can use to make drinks and other stuff. Mortar and pestle are used for grinding up wheat into flour but really you just use the reagent grinder. Last but not least the skimmer you can use it to scoop out impurities.

Butcher's Cleaver/Chef's Knife

These knives are used for cutting up things.

Like meat dough bread and etc.

They can also be used for defense unless you see something twice your size its best to just hide in freezer at that point.

Reagent Grinder

The Reagent Grinder allows you to grind or juice a huge variety of things.

Usually, you will use this to grind wheat into flour for making dough or grinding cloth into fiber, there are a lot more options than this but those are the two big ones.

The Microwave

This is your most versatile tool

If you need to create multiple multiple recipes at once then you can add the cooking time together, for example you can cook up to 6 buns at once if you put it in the microwave

The Stove

A newly added cooking device

You will need the stove for a lot of things and sadly it is not mapped fully yet so make sure to bug science for your stove so you can make all the cake in the world.

Mousetraps

The mousetraps are able to kill small creatures when activated, A good chef would recommend deploying them under your workspace to keep mice from eating you're in-progress food. But beware

Deep Fryer

So, you're ready to start growing your American fast-food chain well get your oils out because you'll need any one of them the three oils you can use are corn oil, olive oil, and ghee. There are three stages too cooking in the deep fryer. Only two of it is really edible and that when the stuff your frying gets crispy or deep fried anymore and it will become a burnt mess. Also last note you can put almost anything in the deep fryer have fun.

The Cow, Goat, and Chicken

You can alt+click on them with some kind of container to fill it with milk if they are not starving. If they are hungry then you can feed them with wheat from botany. But if you're really lucky you can get a chicken. but they are only really good for a few recipes.

The Vending Machines

The chef vend contains a large amount of ingredients that you can use to cook all kinds of food.

The dinnerware vendor contains most of your tools and a wide variety of plates and utensils.

If botany is not helping and you need more ingredients, than you can order a chef vend restock crate from the service request computer.

The Hot Food Cart

This is a cart that has a large storage that you can fill with food, this is an incredible roleplaying tool as you can go around and talk to the different departments to serve food. I would strongly recommend using this once you have made a good amount of food so that you can go around and talk to people.

A great way to kill monkeys and kobolds is letting them freeze to death.

Make Sure Everyone is fed

Make sure to prep all kinds of food like cotton, meat-based foods, and ect.
